Obituary of Fausto Ramon

Fausto Ramon was born in Monclova, Mexico, the youngest son of Dr. Enrique and Carmela Ramon. He grew up in Monclova and graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Nuevo Leon, in Monterrey, Mexico. Dr. Ramon completed his internship at St. Joseph Hospital, in Ann Arbor Michigan, and his residency at the Eye Episcopal Hospital in Washington, DC, one of the founding hospitals of the Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Ramon was a member of the first graduating class of the Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Ramon's medical specialty was otolaryngology and he practiced in the Washington, DC area for 45 years. He retired in 1998 but continued to work as a translator at the Washington Hospital Center up until two years ago. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosina; their five children, Henry (Dina), Maria (James), Rosina (Howard), Fausto Jr. (Christina), Mario; and, their seven grandchildren: Mario, Joseph, Matthew, Victoria, Isabel, William and Patrick. The memorial service for Dr. Fausto Ramon will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at St. Raphael Church, 1513 Dunster Road, Rockville, MD at 1:00 PM.
