I will miss our weekly telephone conversations with Joe when we were able to discuss movies, current events, family happenings, the trips that Paul and I were planning and discussing them after the fact. I will also cherish memories of our weekly luncheons and trips to Trader Joes when Paul and I lived in Alexandria. So much to remember. So many good times. I will miss him a lot.

I knew Joe only a short time. When he came to visit Bob and Paul in Florida. He was a lot of fun. quick to laugh and smile. My condolences to his Family and Friends.

I first met Joe while visiting my father in Washington, DC as a child. I was enamored by Joe's charm and charisma from the start. He was elegant, had a brilliant smile, lived in a gorgeous building and could sing, play the piano, and make amazing things by hand--all very impressive to a young girl. It has always touched me that he cherished a small gift my sister and I gave to him during that visit. Over the years, Joe has been consistently warm and caring and I have always considered him...

It is 1988 following my recital at the Phillips Collection in D.C. with Lois McLeod. Paul Murphy, Neil, Joan Retzlaff, Lois and I were hosted by Joe, the doyenne of our D.C. social world in his "salon" for a post performance fetes of "nibbles" and drink. How lucky we were to have that time together. Say hello to Lois for me Joe. We love you.

It is 1988 in Joe's "salon" following my recital with Lois McLeod at the Phillips Collection in D.C. Paul, Neil, Joan Retzlaff, and I were hosted by Joe Lowder, the doyenne of our D.C. social world, in an evening of friendship and "nibbles" to be remembered for a life time. How lucky we all were to have that precious time together. We all lift a glass to you, Joe, for bringing your magic and style into all our lives. Say hello to Lois for me. Love, Jonathan Retzlaff.

Joe,
I can't imagine a world without you in it. We did so many things, went so many places, cherished so many dear friends together. Drop by some evening around 6:00. We'll have "nibbles" and something in a stem glass.
Love,
Paul
