Obituary of Heidi Mitchell

Heidi Jones Mitchell died October 24, 2015. She was 76. Heidi was born September 5, 1939 in Eugene, Oregon to Forrest Woodrow Jones and Annette Surdam Jones. After graduating from high school in Lakeview, Oregon, she attended the University of Oregon. She married Jimmy Leroy Mitchell on Nov. 4. 1961. They began the first years of their marriage in Sidi Slimane AFB in Morocco. Although they lived in Ohio and Indiana while Jimmy was in graduate school, they spent many of their years together in San Antonio, Texas. Heidi was active in the River Art Group and in porcelain art groups. Heidi was a talented artist. She taught china painting and exhibited at art shows for many years. After Jimmy passed away in December of 2000, Heidi lived for several years in McKenzie Bridge, Oregon. She was a member of the McKenzie Valley Presbyterian church in Walterville and also attended the McKenzie Bridge Christian Church. Heidi is survived by her five children and nine grandchildren. Ian Mitchell, Thane Mitchell, and Forrest Mitchell live around Austin, Texas with their families. Kirsten Ridlehoover lives with her family in Weiser, Idaho. Mark Mitchell lives in Hyattsville, Maryland. Heidi is also survived by her brother, Roy Jones, of Eugene, Oregon. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the McKenzie Bridge Christian Church. Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
