Bill was born July 10, 1935 in Carievale, SK. At a very young age Bill became very mechanically inclined and would work alongside anyone in town caring to take him on and spent many hours with his father at his welding/repair shop. He worked for the Dean Family for a number of years then at Jack Muldoon's garage where Bill worked until the time Jack sold his garage. Bill decided that the time was right for him to move on and so in 1970 Bill and Donna moved to Killarney, MB, where Bill worked for Frank Collyer at Frank's Service as the head foreman. In 1979 Bill moved to Brandon, MB, working for such places as the Co-op Implements, Fort Ignition, and NAPA until his retirement in 1997. Throughout his retirement Bill continued fixing carburetors and the last 20 years Bill and Nancy have been constant companions, spending time with the family, travelling, camping and playing cards. Bill loved life and lived it to its fullest. He played baseball and curled in his early years and spent time socializing at his homes away from home, "Brandon Curling Club" and "Brandon Seniors for Seniors". He also enjoyed serving breakfast for "Food for Thought" at a local school in Brandon for many years. Bill was an avid sports fan and was most often seen at the Brandon Wheat Kings games and he proudly flew the Saskatchewan Roughriders flag in his back yard. Bill left a huge impact in the hearts of everyone he met with his gentle voice big smile and kind ways. He will be deeply missed. A "Celebration" of Bill's life will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 2 pm at Brandon Seniors for Seniors, 311 Park Ave. East. All are welcome. A private family burial will be held at Carievale, SK at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brandon Seniors for Seniors, Food for Thought or to a charity of your choice.
