Obituary of Charles "Bud" Daniel Duguid
DUGUID: Charles 'Bud' Daniel passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Brandon Regional Health Center on Sunday, June 14, 2020. He was born on September 25, 1932 in Brandon the second son of the late Charles and Louise Duguid of Brandon, Manitoba.
In 1950 Charlie began working as a Journeyman Mechanic at Reliance Motors. Over his 42 year career, Charlie worked for Anglo Canadian, Royalite, Gulf Servico and Petro Canada. While with Royalite he was promoted to Service Manager which continued with Gulf Servico, and finally Petro Canada until his retirement in 1992.
Charlie was an active member of the Masonic Order (Brandon Lodge #19 initiated in 1958), the Brandon and District Shrine Club, Khartum Shriners, the Brandon Pipes & Drums and was a volunteer Cancer Care Driver for 25 years. Bud was a kind and generous man who will be lovingly missed by his wife Patricia of nearly 64 years, son Scott (Janice) of Morden, brother David (Monique) of Abbotsford, sister in law Joan Duguid of Brandon and brother in law Fred (Cecile) Calverley of Calgary as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Charlie was predeceased by his parents, Marie (sister) and Robert (brother).
A private graveside service was held on June 18, 2020 at the Brandon Cemetery with Arlene Robertson officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation may be made to Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation 'Palliative Care', 150 McTavish Ave. East Brandon, MB, R7A 2B3 or a charity of your choice. The family expresses their appreciation to the staff at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, particularly Palliative Care at the Assiniboine Centre for their care and kindness to our husband and father.
