Obituary of Allan Creaser
CREASER: Allan Creaser passed away peacefully with his soulmate by his side at Rideau Park Personal Care Home on Saturday, September 19, 2020. Allan was born on August 21, 1946 in Minnedosa, MB, the last of 12 children born to Edgar and Ida Creaser. In his early years, he attended school in Bethany and Minnedosa. Allan then went on to work on his Uncle's farm and then C&C Construction. He left C&C Construction for a short time to go to Alberta to work for Canada Gunrite before returning to Brandon to work for C&C Construction for over 40 years. On July 30, 1977, Allan married Helen Halchyshak of Minnedosa. Making Brandon there home they started their family. In 1978, Scott was born, then Jason, after moving into their present home they had son, Curtis. The Ukrainian Reading Hall played a big part in Allan's life. Allan helped Helen with the setting up and working at banquets. Allan loved watching his boys grow up. He especially loved following their sports. His grandchildren were another love of his life. He especially loved when they would visit and make cookies with Helen, often stealing cookies to eat himself. He was a collector of fire hydrants, having two hydrants in his yard, he also enjoyed collecting pins and rocks. In 2009, Allan was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Although it is a difficult disease we did find the silver lining, Alzheimer's made Allan become more confident, outgoing and able to see the beauty in life. He is survived by his wife, Helen; sons, Scott, Jason and Curtis as well as his grandchildren, Kyra, Elli, Avaya, Ryker and Melia. Allan was predeceased by his mother, Ida; father, Edgar; brothers, Stan, Cliff, George and Harold; sisters, Joan, Betty, Florence and numerous other relatives. A Graveside Service was held at Brandon Cemetery on Friday, September 25, 2020 with Father Mykhaylo Khomitsky as Celebrant.
