Obituary of Rev. Warren Watson Marsh
MARSH: The Rev. Warren Watson Marsh of Brandon, passed away peacefully at the Assiniboine Centre on April 10, 2013 at the age of 62 years. Born in Toronto on November 30, 1950, Warren was predeceased by his parents Oliver Watson Marsh and Edna May (née Spiers) Marsh, and is survived by cousins, the Rev. Gale Glover of Black Creek, B.C., Sandra McNabb of Minnedosa, Diane McNabb of Winnipeg and an uncle, Norman Watson Marsh of Ottawa ON. Following graduation from Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto, Warren was ordained a Deacon on November 1, 1982 at St. George the Martyr Anglican Church Toronto, and a Priest on May 22, 1983 at St. Matthew's Cathedral Brandon. He served as Rector of the 7 parishes of the Holland-Glenboro Group in rural Manitoba until 1990 when he became Rector of St. John the Divine Anglican Church, Quesnel, B.C. until 1994. From 1994 to 2001, he was a freelance photographer based in Comox, B.C. On returning to Western Manitoba, he again served as Rector of the parishes of the Holland-Glenboro Group until 2005, following which he continued doing supply ministry within the Diocese of Brandon until failing health required hospital treatment.
A Requiem Eucharist with interment of Ashes will take place at St. Matthew's Anglican Cathedral, 403-13th Street, on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Jim Njegovan and Dean Robin Walker officiating. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant…… Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." Matthew 25, 21. Special thanks are given to Dr. Riche, the staff in the Dialysis Unit at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, and to the staff and care givers in the Palliative Care Unit on the third floor of the Assiniboine Centre. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Anglican Diocese of Brandon, the PWRDF of the Anglican Church of Canada, the Canadian Diabetes Foundation, the BRHC Foundation, or to a local charity of choice.
