Obituary of Lai Kuen Cheung

Ms. Lai Kuen Cheung, 94, of Mississauga, Ontario, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, Oct. 16th, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Lai Kuen was born on March 25th, 1927 in Xinhui, Guangdong. She had 3 brothers and 2 sisters. In 1950, she met her late husband Wah Lun Sit, and they wed in the same year and had 6 children: Stephen, Connie, Jennifer, Wing Man, Josephine, and William.Lai Kuen dedicated her life to being a respectful daughter, devoted wife, loving mother, caring grandmother, and affectionate great-grandmother. She was also a loyal friend to many and gave back to her community whether it was helping someone in need or donating to charities. She was a storyteller with a fearless youthful spirit. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others and had a heart of gold. Lai Kuen’s home was always filled with people, food, and laughter. We will miss her greatly.In addition to her 6 children, Lai Kuen is survived by 13 grandchildren: Grace, Denise, Julie, Anita, Henry, Gabriel, Jason, Ian, Perry, Nathan, Leon, Christine, and Jeffrey, and her 12 great-grandchildren Landon, Logan, Samantha, Hannah, Brandon, Aaron, Mikayla, Leyton, Skyler, Audrey, Bronson, and Chloe.Please take a moment to sign the online condolence book.As directed by the Province of Ontario and the Bereavement Authority of Ontario the attendance at the funeral and cemetery is restricted to 30% capacity or less and a record of attendance must be maintainedRespecting the current situation and pandemic building restrictions, all services will be held for invited guests only.
