Obituary of Aldo V. Chiabai

Aldo Victor Chiabai March 12,1930 – September 16, 2020With sadness we announce the sudden passing of Aldo Chiabai in his 91st year. Predeceased by his son Lawrence; parents Stefano and Maria; sister Maria (Antonio); brothers Mario (Salvatora), Beniamino (Maria), and Attilio (Marlene). Survived by his loving wife of 63 years Maria Iellina Chiabai. Proud father and Nonno of Patrizia (Art, Gregory and Elliot); Denise (George and Victor); Alan (Utha) and Lawrence (Debra, Kate and Alex). Survived by his brother Isidoro (Anna Maria) and many nieces and nephews.With the support of his wife Maria, Aldo and his brothers established Chiabai Brothers Construction in 1958. The company constructed many landmark civic, residential and commercial buildings. They also took great pride in designing and building their own homes with Italian workmanship. Adventuresome, resourceful and resilient, Dad taught us, by example, the value of a hard-earned dollar and the meaning of family. A visitation will be held at CAPITAL FUNERAL HOME & CEMETERY, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive, on Tuesday, September 22 from 10:00 a.m., until time of service, which will be held in the Chapel at 11:00 am. followed by a reception.Due to COVID-19 restrictions, pre-registration is limited to extended family members only by calling 613- 692-1211 during business hours Monday - Sunday 9 - 5 pm. *Those attending, visitation, service and reception must be pre-registered, wear face masks and practice and respect social distancing guidelines* If desired, donations can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Canada Ottawa Chapter.
