Obituary of Stefania Cymbalski Karpa)
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Stefania Cymbalski (nee Karpa) at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Sunday September 6, 2020 in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of Zygmunt Cymbalski of over 40 years is forever reunited with her husband. Proud mother of Krystyna Halina Walters (Karpa), John Cymbalski and Sophie Bona Bona (Cymbalski). Adoring and much loved grandmother to Callum Cymbalski, Conor Cymbalski, Curtis Bona and Ashley Bona. Predeceased by her mother Eufemia Gulycz and father Jan Karpa. Predeceased by brothers Michal Karpa, Miron Karpa and Staszek Karpa. Stefania will sadly be missed by niece Ella Bilas, and nephews Adam Karpa and Dariusz Karpa and her cousins and friends.Mom was a simple, strong minded, smart and hard working woman, who’s top priority was always her family’s health and welfare. She grew a massive garden every year at her home that she loved in Val Caron. She had a great sense of pride when she used the freshest vegetables and herbs from her garden to not only feed and nourished her family and loved ones, as well as to show them how much she loved and cared for them. Her mantra was “always put the best quality of food on the table first and other things second”.Stefania loved the outdoors in which she breathed deep fresh air, flowers sweet scents, adored beautiful lakes and trees. Nature brought her a sense of serenity, happiness, and love for God, where she prayed often. She would organize daily family outings after her husband was finished work, for the family to enjoy, nature and fun at Ramsey Lake in Sudbury. She loved blueberry picking with Dad and friends in Sudbury area for hours and then baking fresh blueberry pies. What a delight that was.Mom loved happy music both Polish and Ukrainian and spinning the room doing Polka dances. She enjoyed reading and watching beautiful “life stories” such as the Sound of Music. She would say, the nature scenes from the Sound of Music reminded her of her homeland, Wysoczany, Poland. Stefania lost her mom tragically at the age of 10 where she then played a key role in raising her 3 younger brothers that were left without her mom. She knew how it was to loose her mother at a young age and tried her best to be the best mother to her son John, who also lost his birth mother when she married our Dad. She was the glue to our blended family, and a large part as to why the siblings are so close now. When Stefania became a mother herself, she wanted her children to have all the opportunities available for a brighter future that she did not have. This was the main reason she came to Canada with her daughter Krystyna. She instilled strong work ethics, schooling, and strong family connection with all her children. Mom was a simple woman with a lot of class and always straight forward with people; she never pretended to be anyone else but herself. Mom was very intuitive and incredibly clever, no one could ever “pull one over” Stefania, and she was not afraid to call you out on nonsense or unfairness. Mom always made sure celebrations especially Christmas and Easter were honoured with traditions and laughter. Stefania loved God and put Him first by following his ways and by praying multiple times a day. She adored Mary and prayed for her children and grandchildren. She loved Jesus, God’s beloved son. At holidays she taught and practiced prayers and traditions of the Catholic Church which instilled strong beliefs in her children. Mom will continue to live in her children and grandchildren with her strong moral compass and values she taught. In her final moments she expressed her love about all her family. Mom will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. There will never be another woman and mom like her.As directed by the Province of Ontario and the Bereavement Authority of Ontario the attendance at the funeral and cemetery is restricted to 30% capacity or less and a record of attendance must be maintained.Wearing of masks, or face coverings, by everyone is mandatory during their time in the funeral home or cemetery.
