Krystyna Tkaczyk

Obituary of Krystyna Anna Tkaczyk

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce that Krystyna Anna Tkaczyk went to be with the Lord on Sunday August 30th, 2020 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was loved and cherished by her husband Alex of 52 years and will be greatly missed by her two daughters Nancy (Stephen) - Adalyn; and Elaine (Jeff).Krystyna was born on July 29th, 1947 in Poland. She had so many wonderful childhood memories. She often talked about her days of growing up in beautiful Poland. She was actively involved in her church and travelled with her singing group and played her mandolin. She loved spending time in the kitchen with her mother and found her love of cooking and baking there. In December 1967 she arrived in Canada. Within weeks she met Alex - it was a whirlwind romance. He knew she was the one and only for him and they were engaged a few short months later then married in May 1968. Shortly after they started a family, they moved to Oakville. Krystyna loved to open their home to everyone. She enjoyed having people over for a Bible study and fellowship, which always included a home cooked meal or an amazing cake that she would bake. She had the gift of hospitality! She loved her children deeply and took every opportunity to be involved in their lives. As her daughters grew up, she decided to open her home to care for children. She invested her time, energy and love and many of these children would come back or stay in contact and say thank you because she was like a grandmother to them. Years later her prayers were answered and she became a grandmother. What gave her the greatest joy was Adalyn and the time spent with her. They would spend mornings making up funny stories and poems - she was an amazing storyteller and an incredible grandmother. As seasons changed and life slowed down, her husband Alex of 52 years never left her side. They would talk for hours, cook together and share the joys and sorrows of their lives. For those that knew her - her heart and her home were always open. Her faith was her foundation and she lived it to her last day before she went to be with Jesus. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed because of her love and care for others.“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30It is well with my soul.As directed by the Province of Ontario and the Bereavement Authority of Ontario the attendance at the funeral and cemetery is restricted to 30% capacity or less and a record of attendance must be maintained.Wearing of masks, or face coverings, by everyone is mandatory during their time in the funeral home or cemetery.Respecting the current situation and pandemic building restrictions, a Service will be held for invited guests only.At this time we ask that you kindly join our family via live stream by clicking on the following link on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 10:55 a.m. https://www.distantlink.com/DLM77.htmlPassword: Arbor1
