Obituary of Leontina Carreiro

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dearest mother, Leontina Carreiro, on April 29, 2020. Leontina was predeceased by her husband, Jaime, in 2005.Born in Livramento, Sao Miguel, Azores, on June 9, 1929. Leontina joined her husband in Canada in 1959. They resided in Dyment, Ontario for a few years, then moved to Toronto and finally Mississauga.We were blessed with a mother who dedicated her life to her family. We will always remember her for her love and dedication to all of us. She looked forward to all the family gatherings. She loved to hear the latest stories from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will forever remember your laughter and tears of joy streaming down your cheeks as the kids carried on with their banter.Leontina was the eldest of eight children. She will be dearly missed by her siblings, extended family and friends.Leontina was the cherished mother of Maria (Edward), Laura (Carlos), Isabelle (Arthur), Luis.She is the beloved Grandmother of Christopher, Adam, Candace, Michael, Aaron, Ryan, Stephanie, Alexandra and James; and the cherished Great Grandmother of Ava, Anthony, James, Matteo, Olivia, Zion and Alexander.May God hold you close to him, until we meet again.We would like to thank the caring and tireless staff at Chartwell Westbury Long Term Care Residence. As well, we extend our gratitude to the Doctors and Nurses at Trillium Health Centre.We welcome all of Leontina's dear family and friends to view the funeral service on Live Stream.
