It is with great sadness that we write these words today. Bill was a part of our lives for many years, and it was a priviledge for us to know him. The birth of the Bill's first grandson Jeffry, followed by Jason, and then his great grandson Nathan, were all wonderful occasions that brought our families together and we feel lucky to have been blessed with such a wonderful extended family. Over the years we had good times with Bill, from camping trips, to family gatherings, countless holidays and many, many, card games. He will forever be missed in our lives and our heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family today. Love Alfred, Irene, Peter and Kim ♥

It was a good feeling to know that you, my inigmatic and quiet Grandpa, loved me. Now in adulthood I have nothing but respect for people from all of my Grandparents' generation for their love of the simple life and their perserverance through incredible obstacles, hardships, depressions, wars, recessions, relocating their families time and time again simply just to find work... and so much and many more journies, that they went through while still enjoying life and family along the way - endeavours that my peers would consider an insult to their lifestyle if they had to undertake them. It is a shame that our elders' voices and advice is often unheard at this stage of our evolution, becuase once their voices are silenced, that book in history is closed. For that reason I feel that William's life was incredible, important and strong and he should be remembered as such because that's exactly what he is. I am honoured to have been a part of his life, to have his name and to have been considered and cared for by him.

I have great memories of Uncle Bill. He was a great brother to my mother until her passing. I thank Elise for the opportunity to see Uncle Bill one last time when he came to Waterloo to see his granddaughter who was attending Laurier and for him to meet my grown-up daughter. We all agreed that Uncle Bill had become the spitting image of his Dad, known to Paul, Steve and Elise as Grandpa Longo. Uncle Bill will always be in my thoughts and now he joins the rest of the original Longo's with his parents, my Mother Mary (Longo) Marchand and his brother Tony Longo. Together again! Tony Marchand
