Obituary of Marguerite Ellen Hamilton (née Murphy)

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marg Hamilton who died peacefully in her 83rd year, with family at her side at Victoria Hospital, London, on Friday, June 7, 2013, on her 61st wedding anniversary. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband Kenneth and her loving children Steven (Samira), Paul (Gina), Ellen (Reid), Patrick (Maria), Lisa (Jay) and Andrew. Cherished grandmother of Michael, Julie, Scott, Sheena, Wesley, Andrew, Kelsey, Skye, Spencer, Perry, Murphy, Philip, Jack and Tate. Her memory will be treasured by her brother Jack, sisters-in-law Joan (Joe) and Kathryn and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Hugh and Frank and sister Bernice. Her life included many years of devoted volunteer work which eventually led to an exceptional career retiring as interim Executive Director at Community Living London. Marg consistently welcomed anyone who cared to drop by the house for a swim, as she had a “drop by anytime” rule. She loved her daily walks through Springbank Park. She will be dearly missed. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Thursday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., as well as one hour prior to the memorial service which will be conducted on Friday, June 14th, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Community Living London or the Leukemia Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
