Obituary of Joan (née Decaire) Easter

Peacefully at University Hospital, on Thursday, May 30th, 2013, Joan passed away at the age of 78. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Arnie. Dearly loved mother of Lori Dennis, her husband Brian, and Trent Easter and his wife Teresa. Very proud and “perfect” Nanny to her three grandsons: David, Curtis and Sean. Predeceased by her parents David and Mary Ellen Decaire and her brother Lyman. Joan was born November 27, 1934 in the “Glen”, Charlottenburg Township, Glengarry County, ON. Married to Arnie on August 28, 1954 they began a life journey of devoted family life and entrepreneurship that made for a wonderful life. Joan was a medal winning Highland Dancer in her youth and a teacher of dance in her early adult years and an avid and competitive curler in her adult life. A long term member of the Highland Golf and Country Club. At her request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Monday from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. with prayers at 6:00 p.m. Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Fr. John Jasica on Tuesday, June 4th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. George Parish, 1164 Commissioners Road West, London. Private interment will be held at a later date at St. Lawrence Union Cemetery, Ingleside, ON, where she will lay in rest with Arnie and her parents.
