Obituary of Helen M. Dickie

Peacefully, with her family by her side at Horizon Place, London, on Wednesday, May 8th, 2013. Predeceased by her parents Marshall and Florence Dickie and by brothers Kenneth and Ronald, and by long-time friend Dorothy Parker. Survived by nieces Brenda Dickie, Sheila Miles (late Joseph) and nephews Lorne (Margaret), Walter (Eleanor), Clifford (Ruth) and Terry Dickie (late Claudette), and their families. Helen was a life-long resident of Hyde Park and was an active member of the Hyde Park United Church. Helen served in the R.C.A.F. from 1942 to 1945. She was an accomplished horsewoman who rode well into her 80s and was a long-time member and supporter of the London Hunt. Helen’s passion for horses brought her great joy throughout her entire life. Thank you to the staff at Horizon Place for their professional care and loving manner. Visitation will be held on Friday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, May 11th, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. Private family interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In consideration of Helen’s love of all creatures great and small, expressions of sympathy may be made to the London Humane Society.
