Obituary of Eleanor Eileen Ruth Copland (née Thomas)

Peacefully, at Victoria Hospital, with her family by her side on Friday, May 3rd, 2013, Eleanor Eileen Ruth Copland (née Thomas), of London, in her 89th year. Beloved wife of Don for 62 years. “Best Mother Ever” of Eileen (Fred) Stanbury, Heather (Tom) Slater, John (Linda) Copland and Rob Copland. Cherished Grandma of Jenna, Mikhael, Calaigh, Natasha, Robbie, Sammi and Ethan. Dear sister of Dick Thomas, Peter (Elaine) Thomas and Leah Steele. Sister-in-law of Ron Calligan, Bill Tuckey and Richard Lutz. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters Betty Calligan, Charmaine Tuckey and Rosemary Lutz. Eleanor was a member of Hillside Church and was a Brownie Leader in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 8th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Eleanor are asked to consider the Arthritis Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the London Humane Society.
