Obituary of Gordon Stewart Reid

Peacefully and surrounded by his family, our Dad (Gord Reid) passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Strathmere Lodge in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Lorraine (Besterd) Reid (2012). Loving father of Linda Reid (Joe Holborn) of Harriston; Donna Summerton (Don) of Strathroy; Kathy Mclean (Michael) of Perth; Barbara Chasteen (Dave) of Dayton, Ohio; and Ruthann Roper (Dave) of St. Thomas. Old Papa will be missed by his 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Dad was a 49 year member of the United Association Union of Plumbers, Pipe Fitters, and Steam Fitters Local 593. A celebration of Dad’s life will be held at a later date. At his request cremation has taken place. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of our Dad are asked to consider the Auxiliary at Strathmere Lodge in Strathroy, or, if you could find it in your heart and your busy lives, please go to visit your family, friends, or neighbours who live in long term care. This would make him very happy. His daughters would very much like to thank all the staff at Strathmere Lodge for their wonderful care, kindness, and consideration for our Dad and for us.
