Obituary of Michael Bowen
Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer at Victoria Hospital, London, on Thursday, April 4, 2013 in his 55th year. Loving son of Vi Bowen and the late Bob Bowen. Dear brother of Jim Bowen (Jeanette) and Bill Bowen (Carole). Loving uncle of David, Mark, Brandon, Alexis and Megan. Fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Mike will be sadly missed by all of his friends in Sudbury and Northern Ontario. Mike was a graduate of McMaster University and was an avid sports fan. He held season tickets to the Buffalo Bills, making the journey from Sudbury to support his team. GO BILLS GO. Despite being raised in a Habs household, Mike was a devoted Toronto Maple Leaf fan (sorry Bob), those Saturday night rivalries will be remembered. GO LEAFS GO. In Sudbury, Mike supported the Wolves and enjoyed sweeping many rocks down a sheet of ice at the local curling clubs. In the summer months he could be found on the links and vacationing at the camp with family. Finances were not only his profession but also his passion. Thank-you to the Palliative Care Unit at the London Health Sciences Centre for the compassionate care that he received. Visitation will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Monday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service being conducted on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Private interment at Woodland Cemetery to take place at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Mike are asked to please consider the London Health Sciences Foundation - Cancer Centre.
