Obituary of Sankatha Prasad Singh

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sankatha Prasad Singh on Thursday, March 28th, 2013 at University Hospital in his 76th year. He leaves behind his loving family, wife Suman, daughter Indu and son-in-law Abhay, son Manoj and daughter-in-law Tanuja, and four grandchildren, Shivank, Priyanka, Sachika, and Rohan. Dr. Singh was born in Varanasi, India and completed his PhD from Banaras Hindu University. He retired from Memorial University of Newfoundland as Professor of Mathematics in 2001, after over thirty years of dedicated service. He was an exceptional teacher and widely respected researcher. His visitation was at Westview Funeral Chapel on March 29th and his cremation will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on the morning of March 30th. He will be dearly missed by his family and many close friends.
