Beloved husband of Mona (Palleck) Parker and the late Marion and Therese. Dear father of Ken (Jacquie) Fidler, Karen (Robert) Cimon, Douglas (Barbara) Parker and step-father of Brian (Barb) Palleck, Stephen (Cindy) Palleck, Norah (Otmar) Mengis and Sharon Palleck. Loving grandfather of David, Matthew and Emmett, Lesley (Mike) and David and great-grandson Nathaniel. Also survived by 15 step-grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Gerald and Marie, sister Eileen, brothers Walter, Laurence, Robert and Jack, and son Robert. Art served in the RCAF overseas where he participated at D-day, Arnhem, A Bridge Too Far, The Rhine Crossing and other conflicts and flew jets with the RCAF from 1951-1964. He retired from the Armed Forces in 1964 and moved to London where he worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs in London and the London Board of Education retiring in 1986. He enjoyed travelling and family visits. Art was a master bridge player and enjoyed darts and golf. Visitation will be held on Friday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, March 30th, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment, St. Peter’s Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Art are asked to consider St. Vincent de Paul, Holy Family Parish or a charity of your choice.
