Obituary of Ida Cameron

Peacefully with family by her side at University Hospital, London, on Sunday, March 10th, 2013, Ida “Jean” Cameron, of London, in her 94th year. Beloved wife of Graeme Cameron for 69 years: Jean and Graeme were high school sweethearts at South Collegiate. Loving mother of Kathy (Bill) Scarth, of Dundas, Ross Cameron, of London, Jim (Karen) Cameron, of Springlake, New Jersey and Bob (Harriet) Cameron, of Bradford. Dear sister-in-law of Blanche Jarmain, of Mississauga, and Dorothy Collyer, of London. Also loved by her grandchildren: Brian, David (Anna), Darryl, Ryan, Brad, Julianne, Laura, John and Scott and great-grandson Cameron Scarth. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Jean loved learning and was an enthusiastic member of the Canadian Federation of University Women, a docent at the Art Gallery, on the program committee of Senior Alumni, a member of book and study clubs and a frequent leader of the Wednesday morning unit at First-St. Andrew’s United Church. Her warm smile, cheerful optimism and supportive nature made everyone feel loved and appreciated. She was the centre of our family and a source of confidence and inspiration for us all. The family wishes to thank the whole staff at Richmond Woods Retirement Residence for their kind and thoughtful care. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, March 17th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jean are asked to consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the CNIB.
