Died peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on March 1, 2013 at Parkwood Hospital – Western Counties Wing (for veterans), London. Devoted husband for 56 years of the late Frances (2004). Loving father of Linda Kittmer (Charles) of Deep River and Brian Blackmore of London. Very interesting grandfather to Amy Elder (Michael) of Ottawa, Keri Kittmer-Frank (Chad) of North Bay and Andrew Kittmer (Miranda) of Deep River. Delighted great-grandfather to Heidi and Ashlee Elder; Rylie Kittmer, Grace and Chloe Frank; and Isla Kittmer. Dalton was a World War II veteran, a caring United Church minister and an enthusiastic high school counselor during his life. He is remembered by his sister Jean Phinn (Jack), other family members and friends. He is especially missed by his special friend, Jim Wilson. Special thanks to the staff at Parkwood Hospital – Western Counties Wing for their exceptional care and compassion for Dalton over the past six years. A private family service will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, London, followed by burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London. Anyone wishing to make a donation in his memory is asked to consider the Alice Saddy Association, 111 Waterloo Street, Suite 401, London N6B 2M4 which cares for his very special son.
